The Heatons

The Heatons truly are the gateway between Manchester and Stockport, offering four distinct and affluent suburbs. The ease of access to the motorway network provides commuter access across the north west, whilst there are frequent trains and buses to the city centre. A mere eight minute journey to Piccadilly from Heaton Chapel railway station is very appealing to professionals working in Manchester and the proposed metrolink extension in Heaton Mersey will again increase the desirability of the area. All the benefits of city living but in a more settled friendly community.

The spread of the Heatons means there is a variety of quality housing for buyers to choose from. Period terraced properties, semi-detached houses for the young family, purpose built or converted apartments, modern developments of detached properties and townhouses and larger Victorian Villas on tree-lined roads. This desirable mix of properties mean there is strong local demand with buyers moving up the property ladder within a few hundred yards of their previous home. Equally, buyers from outside areas and relocaters are pleasantly surprised to find similar period properties to Didsbury.

This is further complimented by a strong community atmosphere and friendliness where independent and locally owned shops including organic butchers, local green grocers, delicatessens, health food shops, a variety of restaurants, bars and traditional pubs create a village environment. Indeed Heaton Moor’s recently blossoming café society has followed Didsbury’s lead and is a reflection of the growth of the area.  A Tescoes Express serves the area and there is also a rumour in the Moor of a Marks and Spencers Food Hall opening.

Another strong draw of the Heatons is the excellent reputation of the local schools; both primary and secondary. I am personally receiving many enquires from buyers registering because of this reason. For buyers relocating regionally or nationally to our area there are links on our own website that enable access to school results, performance tables and Ofsted reports.

The Heatons have a particularly open and leafy feel to them this is contributed to in part by wide tree-lined roads, and also by parks and a common for families to enjoy, access to walks along the Mersey and the Pennine Trail, Golf courses and sports fields.  This ambience has been sustained through the creation of Conservation areas within the Heatons.
